Warrantless wiretapping? War in Iraq? Water-boarding? Economic policies that make the poor much poorer. Inadequate healthcare. Poor education. A FOR-PROFIT correctional system. Expiring nuclear treaties.

Sure these get talked about here.

But TSA GENITAL GROPING RAPISTS!!! and TASER CRAZY POLICE SHOCKED AN OLD LADY!!!!!!!! are the ONLY two issues that have dominated this forum like this.

And BOTH are minor compared to long-term effects on this countries' future that I listed.

Most of the TSA threads START by calling the TSA a part of a POLICE STATE and within 10 posts are comparing the plight of travelers to that of Jews in Nazi Germany. Isn't this a TAD hyperbolic?

The excess OUTRAGE shows what I feared - that we American's ONLY REALLY care about things that directly impact us in a way that touches our body or hurts people we DIRECTLY know.
