Enjoy your terror and outrage, my friend. I don't think the Baptists will be stoning anyone soon, but I will keep alert for that. FWIW, I have written my share of posts expressing dismay and anger at the role of the Christian right in US politics. But some of us are capable of being outraged by the dog status of women in Saudi without the knee-jerk and disingenuous attempt to equate the two.

No outrage here, just a bit puzzled. Can you show me one post where I have tried to "equate" what the Christian Right is doing with what Islamic fundamentalists are doing? Because I've only tried to make a comparison between a worldview mindset as it relates to intent, as far as I know. Can you point out where I have personally said Baptists will be stoning anyone soon? I believe I intimated that such actions would be contingent upon the Christian Right eliminating the separation of church and state, which is their stated intent, and even then we would have to wait at least 20 years.
