137. The broken windows can be thought of -
as a contemporary Kristalnacht analogue. Spitting on a Congressman and calling him a nigger are assaults and issuing threats of violence can be interpreted as domestic terrorism. But the cutting of a gas line, presumably attaching an outdoor propane tank to an outdoor barbecue grill, an act which does nothing more harmful than emptying the tank into the night air, is essentially nothing more than an act of malicious but harmless vandalism, a simple destruction of property, and trying to present it as comparable to planting a bomb or a realistic attempt at arson is a self-defeating exaggeration. Because the relatively harmless nature of such impotent, sneaky vandalism will eventually be revealed and making too much of it can be counterproductive in terms of public opinion.

It's fine to mention it but there should not be attempts to treat it as if it were a Molotov cocktail tossed through a window, as some Progressive talkers are doing. It should be kept in perspective.
