86. LOL. Sure. Just like it was completely up to Senate Democrats that Obama

met with health insurers, Big PHRMA and big health care providers before this process started, then resisted--none too honestly--the ACLU's FOIA requests for the WH logs.

Just like it was up to Senate Democrats that Obama would not meet with House liberals until after the Senate bill was good to go.

Just like it was up to Senate Democrats that all negotiations relating to HCR never made it to C-Span, as Obama promised.

Just like it was up to Senate Democrats that reimportation of prescription drugs from Canada went down in flames very soon after the WH put the kibosh on it.

Just like it was up to Senate Democrats that a PHRMA lobbyist who made a deal with the WH (favorable treatment in the bill in exchange for "political support") got fired after Coakley lost in Massachusetts. That "political support" must have cost his bosses a pretty penny (and sounds like the quid pro quo of reward exchanged for legislation that the law forbids).

It's damn shame that a very bright man who is President of the United States and head of the Democratic Party has so few ways of "pesuading" Democrats in Congress to do anyhing. Thank God FDR and LBJ never realized how pathetically little clout they had with Democrats in Congress, or we might still be in a Depression with our big, bad no Medicare no civil rights Act selves.

When Obama wants something, he has plenty of clout. (See reimportation of drugs from Canada.) Wake up and smell the coffee. I believe it's Starbuck's Back Room Deals--Extra Bold.
