And has a pro-corporate, pro-globalization view of the world. Imagine Arne Duncan-type K-12 policies but applied to run one of the country's best university systems. Even the most cutthroat academic administrators I knew--ones who are very attentive to the bottom line--left when he was hired to run the UNC system. He didn't give a crap about faculty (peasant) input. What do they know? He's where he is because of high birth.

But he certainly knows how to cut budgets and work people 20 hours a day while berating them.

At least he's not taking Geithner's job. That was the rumor around here for a while.
