28. Pushing through the poll was illegal
Seizing the ballots, attempting to fire the Army chief who was upholding the law. There was enough to throw him in jail awaiting trial.

What you call a coup was the next in line for presidential succession following the law and taking over the position. Remember, pretty much the entire government was against Zelaya and ruling his actions illegal. Here, that would result in impeachment.
