Given them financial support and stay out of the way, don't alienate the Pakistani public with drone attacks that go astray and kill civilians.
The U.S. and Pakistan put together these right wing mountain militias in the early 80's to fight the Soviets who were that decade's naive nation trying to fight a useless war in Afghanistan. Now Pakistan has to clean up the mess.
