House Republican leader John Boehner said this afternoon he’ll vote ‘no’ on a resolution to discipline U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson for yelling “You lie!” at President Obama last week.

“Instead of pursuing this type of petty partisanship, we should be working together to lower costs and expand access to affordable, high-quality health coverage on behalf of the American people,” Boehner said in a statement.

House members could vote as early as Tuesday on a resolution of disapproval following Wilson’s refusal to apologize on the House floor for breaking rules of decorum.

Wilson continues to turn the controversy over his remarks into a campaign plank, issuing calls for funds and a new online video in which he said, “I will not apologize on the House floor to Nancy Pelosi, despite the threats” of discipline.
