The research in the OP is from Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL. My brother's sight was saved at a young age by Moorfields, and he continued to have world-class treatment from them for many years, at no cost to my rather poor parents. I got a degree at UCL, also at no cost to me or my parents. Socialism is rather thin on the ground here these days, sadly, but I'm grateful for its legacy.
