In all seriousness, we are not at the political point of succession though if the current crises worsens I suppose it could become a more serious discussion. The Governor's statement was unbelievably irresponsible. I'm a poster on a web site, he's a Governor of a major US state.

Your point on nuclear weapons is well taken. We need only to recall the breakup of the USSR. As I recall, the Ukraine did give up their nuclear weapons and we helped pay to dismantle them. In a secession 'Texas' would be significantly harder to convince.
