Singer Chris Brown charged over Rihanna assault

Brown is charged with felony counts of assault and making criminal threats, a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said.

The affidavit said the attack was triggered after Rihanna had read out a text message from an unidentified woman found on Brown's phone.

The singer is reported to have slammed Rihanna's head against the window of the car before repeatedly punching and biting her.

When Rihanna called her assistant to alert police, Brown raged: "You did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you" before putting the singer in a headlock so severe she nearly lost consciousness, according to the report.

I'm happy to see that they are going forward with the prosection.

While all and any abuse is HORRIBLE, I hadn't heard the extent of what he did to her until I read this.

Smashing her head into the windshield, BITIING, CHOKE-HOLDING, and then screaming he was going to kill her when there is a witness listening?!?!?

I think it is very sad that she has "reconciled" with this young man. It is not good.

I heard this week that her mentor/producer Jay-Z is trying to arrange a meeting with Tina Turner. I hope the Ms. Turner can talk some sense into this young lady. Very, very sad and scary!
