The Navy has a shot of the ship offloading supplies up on their website. They have pallets of food and bottled water stacked on the deck under the McFaul's 5" main gun.
The Coast Guard cutter Dallas should be there any day too. The Dallas is one of the CG's combat ships and is equipped with large guns too.
Later this week the USS Mt Whitney will be delivering supplies too. Why is that interesting? Because the Whitney is the 6th Fleet's command and control ship, and is the command ship for NATO's southern strike force.
Provocative? I think so. It's hard to believe that the Sealift Command didn't have a SINGLE cargo ship available in the region.
