Reply #245: I've been trying to find out if he had regular colonoscopies

in the years before he was diagnosed. I thought I heard he had been, which scared the hell out of me, but if he had ulcerative colitis it makes sense. My sister died in her late 30's from colon cancer and my brothers and I get colonoscopies every 3 years. None of us have UC. After his last colonscopy my bro was found to have diverticulosis, which is not as severe as the more commonly known diverticulitis, and I've had a couple polyps removed.

I hate the prep sooo much that I've been putting it off so it's getting closer to 4 years since the last one, but this sad news combined with the new findings about the harder to spot flat lesions that have been found to be even more likely to cause cancer than polyps, the procrastinating stops toorrow morning.

Ms. Toad - I made my daughter get her first colonoscopy at 23. Not only did my sis pass from it, but 3 people have died from it in her dad's family.
