You don't need a passport to go to Mexico or Canada till January. But then, what about the people who just decided to play it safe and get a passport? A lot of companies require you send in your birth certificate. Now someone is just holding them till they get to your application.Hey guess what? unless you have enough time to get another certified copy of your birth certificate and or drivers license you are not going anywhere. Now lets say you were born in another country and have to get another copy...you are probably screwed. You can't drive out of the country or take any kind of ship without that ID.
