"You can't preach about resurrection, transubstantiation and virgin births and then turn around and say you believe in science."

If religion and science were mutually exclusive, then you would expect to be able to go into any laboratory in the world and not run into anyone who is religious. What percentage of the world's scientists would you estimate are religious? Under your premise, there wouldn't be any scientists that fit the bill.
