The trend is more toward countries like Guatemala and China. I work with a MC (megachurch christian) who just adopted a little girl from Guatemala through some christian agency. Apparently the business is a booming one, so much that they have entire hotels dedicated to just the people who are there for adoption purposes.

I know several people in the last few years who have adopted, and they have all been children from foreign countries. I guess no one wants children with any possible strings attached. That, and it's easier and cheaper to adopt out of the US.

I would have no problem with this if more of it were centered on OUR children who need OUR help.
