| 153. I was thinking the same thing |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-11-07 11:44 PM by brentspeak
Not like I find using terms like "nappy headed ho's" either funny or inoffensive, but the simple fact that Imus has even called own wife (a white woman) a "ho" on the air weakens the accusations of racism for him using that language, re. the Rutgers women. If Imus had never used that type of terminology prior to last week's lame "jokes" about the Rutgers womens' basketball team, then one could definitely say he was a racist. I don't like his cranky curmudgeon act, and his attempts to be politically incorrect are tasteless, but even Sharpton knows that Imus' "joke" was a stupid joke gone awry. Anyone who thinks that Sharpton is genuinely outraged at Imus is naive, to say the least; Sharpton's just doesn't want to let an opportunity to get himself in front of the cameras slip away.
