But looking at the video I don't think these guys have been tortured and I hope it stays that way.

Iran is obviously releasing this kind of footage to enable us to make direct comparisons with how it treats its prisoners as compared to the US treatment of prisoners - In Iranian custody they are being fed properly, having the odd perk like a cig, being in comparatively nice surroundings... vs US custody where they are being striped naked, smeared with animal fat and having attack dogs let loose upon them.

How is this all going down in the Arab world I wonder...?

People in the UK (and US?) are constantly told these "confessions" are invalid because of the circumstances in which they were obtained. And that the captors are behaving abominably.

How true. No-one can disagree here.

But how many people who might not have given it too much consideration before, are thinking "and what about those confessions obtained after three years in Gunatanamo...? And what about the captors in those cases?

The longer this standoff goes on, the more the US and UK position is subtly undermined from within....
