58. It's unfortunate that he apologized. Smart thing to do...
would have been to "retell" the joke in clearer terms. It was obvious what he meant.

It will all fade by Tuesday, but in the interim, I think Olberman got it exactly right: that Rove et al knew what he meant, but Kerry's phrasing was ambiguous enough that it could be used against him.

We either need to let it go or -- as Olbermann says -- demand the apology from Bush
