If the party stands for anything, should it not stand for equal treatment under the law?

Fact is, a lot of the South is racist and homophobic. I know, I grew up there. This ban proves it in part, and that Dems - including blacks, who should know better! - can vote to ban equality is very upsetting.

But what do I know, I'm just a queer taxpaying citizen, why should I expect alleged liberals to support equality?
