she should see Al Gore's film if she really wants to talk about security issues! I'm sick of "terrorism and security" topping the democratic list of priorities; the effects of global warming are a massive security issue, poverty issue, economic issue, environmental issue, and hunger issue. When climate change starts to cause massive crop failures, we'll be facing additional aggression from starving nations. We are not separate from the planet we live on, nor the other life forms it supports.
Education is also a security issue. An undereducated population votes republican, can't innovate or compete,and eventually will turn America into a third world nation. The repugs hope that only the bottom 90% of us live as third world citizens while they control us, and we simply can't allow this dream of their to materialize.
