I can't imagine being a freshman far from home and suddenly hearing voices OR being the roommate of that person, but as I said, it does happen over and over again every year, and colleges just pretend that such things never happen. Throw in some self medication with illicit drugs and now you have a real mess on your hands.Even worse, so often it seems to strike the best nd brightest kids. I agree, we need some sort of house mother system. My daughter wishes the dorm could have some sort of dorm cat or dorm dog as well, but she's afraid sooner or later some jerk would poison it with Ecstasy or something.
