UNLESS THE WH WITNESSES ARE PUT UNDER OATH, HEARINGS MEAN NOTHING AND MAY EVEN WHITEWASH THE ISSUE.

You know the drill: portentous speechifying made "bipartisan" by at least one token Dem sellout, conclusion that there is no cause for concern. Then the "result" is quoted forever after as "proof" that the case is closed. Sound familiar? It's a GOP favorite ploy, turned to when their VERY favorite - suppressing hearings altogether - doesn't quite float the boat any more.
