178. FAM's do not use a jacketed or semi-hollow round.....

they use a pre-fragmented round known as a safety slug. These allow for use of a firearm in a close defensive situation, such as your home or an airplane, without pass through issues such as shooting a burglar and 10-ringing Grandma in the next room, or decompressing an airliner at 35,00 feet.
