Lumping them in with the Scientologists and SBC wackos. The LWT's are a very scientifically advanced religion. Some of our greatest geneticists are from their religion....Without the Great Lettuce Sacrifice to feed the rabbits use for genetic experiments, we'd be decades further behind in genetic research. In fact, I hear they've actually become very supportive of the embryonic stem cell movement. The LTW's are quite vocal about the attempt of some to hamper genetic research - in fact, they contend that if we inhibit geneticists in this area, their early Lettuce Sacrifices were for nothing.

Simply because they aren't vocal concerning the creation/evolution debate, their primary sympathies lie with the scientific community. After all, the anti-stem cell brigade are contemptuous of the LWT sacrifices.
