to "open our borders" so to speak. Its just that these "solutions" will solve none of the real problems related to illegal immigration. Repubs are good at providing solutions that sound good as a sound bite or look good on paper, but would be impractical or draconian if implemented. To build and maintain any type of large barrier accross the American/Mexican border is going to cost upwards into the billions, and can be defeated by riding a small boat, that can cost anywhere from a $100 up to maybe a thousand dollars, along the coasts. Some will get through, regardless of the compentency of the Coast Guard. Such barrier can also be defeated with a simple wirecutter, in the case of a fence, or a small pipebomb, in the case of a brick wall. Its just a waste of money, to be honest. I need not say what I want to say about the rules for citizenship, that's simply draconian.
