Our Ukrainian Catholic church was a lot better - we got cubes of home-made paska (holy bread) dipped in very strong wine - almost like a good whiskey!
And on special holy days, we would get some more bread upon leaving the church.
The priest's wife always made it - a nice "babushka" headed old lady! (our newest priest has a very pretty young blonde wife and two beautiful little girls!)
I always loved our communion as opposed to the Roman Catholic brand.
