8. This is how I get my conservative students to think about the Patriot Act
I just ask them if they would want a President John Kerry or Hillary Clinton to have these kinds of powers: all of a sudden the NRA is declared a "terrorist organization" and the FBI has installed wiretaps on the Christian Coalition's office telephones and computers.

That makes them pause to think.
