44. no chance
And it would be a terrible thing if it did happen. One thing the writers of the Consitution had right was to keep the military under civilian control at all times. At the point that the President cannot any longer control the military we lose everything. It sucks for the men and women in the field, but they have to, and will obey orders for the most part (some may disobey, but 99 percent will obey lawful orders.) and like it or not, this was, under US law, a lawful order.

Face it folks, we are in Iraq. We went in and now we have the country. we cannot pull out unilaterally without serious repercussions in the long run. I wish it were different, that the troops could come home, but until such a time as a stable state is established in Iraq, we have to stay there.

Although I did not agree with the use of Force to occupy Iraq, now that the decision has been made, we cannot reverse it. we can discuss the best way to rebuild Iraq, but we cannot leave it. Are you willing to condemn Iris to a generation (or more) of civil war? of strife, of devastation? I'm not. we have to fix this problem our 'leadership' has created for us.
