15. In Salina ,Kansas during the 60's, You DID have to show a marriage license
to rent some apartments.

"Gals" who rented together had to sign a paper stating that there would be NO "gentlemen callers" EVER inside their apartments..

"Girl" college stiudents were in LOCK-DOWN dorms, and could not even LIVE off campus until they were juniors..

This all changed in the 70's, but I would suspect that there are still some landlords who "choose not to" rent to unmarrieds.
