What I heard him sneak in between all his false promises and lies was reforming Social Security shouldn't include raising the payroll tax (the fix last time) or adversely effect the economy. That last bit is code for not taxing the wealthy. The capitalist class can not be encumbered with social responsibility--or in any way be expected to pull their weight in a "Democracy" where the citizenry is assigned the role of consumer and little more. Considering all the tax breaks,loopholes and relief granted Corp culture which shields them from any tax status--where you and I pay more taxes, it was a joke that Bush attributed tax delinquency as an issue.

Who other than Krugman will call him out on it?
