that 1 in 3 school-aged children will have been molested before graduation, many of them while very young. I forget where I heard that statistic. I have been teaching for 12 years now and have never suspected that any of my students have been sexually abused. I taught in a rough school one year and some of the children seemed really withdrawn, but I suspected just bad home lives in general. How does one know if a child is being molested if the child is not speaking out about it? I have only called the authorities once for physical abuse and once for neglect.
I'm afraid that this sickness is growing because I really believe that the world continues to be fill up with people who are freaking out.
