According to the preliminary USGS maps, this quake's epicenter is between Nias Island and Simeulue Island off the west coast of northwestern Sumatra. The 26 December quake's epicenter was Simeulue Island. I suspect that these are part of the same fault system, and would not be surprised if this was a (very very large) aftershock.
