31. Can someone confirm this for me about Rather and JFK murder?

I've read that Dan Rather is one of the few journalists who saw the Zapruder film years before the film was released to the public in the mid-'70s.
From what I've read, Rather supposedly reported that you could clearly see JFK lunging forward from the shot to his head. Anyone who has seen Oliver Stone's "JFK" knows the refrain "back and to the left" as the actual direction Kennedy took with the fatal head shot.
Is it true that Rather made this report? I've been unable to confirm it.
