An Unfair Trade

As early as May of 2001, a satellite surveillance system for the CIA, known as Echelon, picked up intelligence "that Middle Eastern terrorists were planning to hijack commercial aircraft to use as weapons to attack important symbols of American and Israeli culture."

In July of 2001, Attorney General John Ashcroft was given a warning to stop flying on domestic air carriers. Domestic air carriers are the flights that normal American citizens routinely use to travel around the country for business or pleasure. No warning was passed on to any of the major airline companies. What warning did Mr. Ashcroft receive and why was that warning not given to the public at large? Why was Mr. Ashcroft's life considered more valuable than any other?

It has now been disclosed that, while vacationing for the month in Crawford, Texas, George W. Bush was briefed by the CIA of these imminent attacks. Concurrently with that, there was an FBI agent in Phoenix, Arizona, attempting to give information of terrorists training at flight schools across the country and the alleged terrorist, Zacarias Moussaoui, was picked up and questioned for his desire to learn how to fly a commercial jetliner without learning to "take-off or land." The FBI decided that there was no reason to question Mr. Moussaoui further and released him without even attempting to discover his links to Al-Qaeda and the other terrorists.

It has been reported that US special agents were told to back off the bin Laden family and the Saudi royals soon after George Bush became president. It is also a known fact that George W. Bush made his first $20 million with an oil company partially funded by the chief US representative of Salem bin Laden (who also died in an airplane crash in Texas in 1988), Osama bin Laden's brother, who headed the bin Laden family interests after Mohammed bin Laden (their father) died in an airplane crash in Texas in 1968.

John O'Neal, the lead FBI investigator in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, resigned in August of 2001 in protest of the Bush policy of not finding bin Laden. The Bush administration withheld the intelligence departments' notices from the Senate and Congress. George W. Bush twice stated that he "saw the first plane hit the first WTC tower" on the morning of September 11, 2001, prior to entering the elementary school classroom in Florida. This was not televised nationally at that time.

What was he watching and who filmed this and where is that tape? Why did the White House staff say that the White House and Air Force One were terrorist targets on September 11 and why did they later change their story? Why, two days after September 11, did this administration allege that Osama bin Laden was the culprit and then decide to attack Afghanistan when most of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? Why did Dick Cheney call upon Tom Daschle to limit the investigations into September 11?

If all is as George W. Bush has said and the proper federal authorities were indeed notified, why did the Air Force not intercept these four hijacked airplanes as standard operating procedures demanded, and which they would have done, had they been notified?

The source of the anthrax in the letters to Democratic Senators Daschle and Leahy has been pinpointed to our own CIA laboratories. But the killer has yet to be discovered by the Bush Justice Department. Why should it be so difficult to identify this person? With only a limited number of people having access to these studies, it should have been known long ago. With these facts all gathered together, a pattern begins to emerge that is quite disturbing. The conflicts of interest and the secrecy of this administration seem to take on a sinister tone. "What did they know and when did they know it" seems an inadequate question. The question of the loyalty of George W. Bush and his administration to this United States of America seem to be in doubt.

George W. Bush's administration has attempted to blanket its actions in secrecy, wrote the text for the USA Patriot Act which subverts our Constitution and Bill of Rights and has pushed for the financial profits of Mr. Bush's immediate family through its connections to the military supplier and former partner with the bin Laden family, The Carlyle Group.

It is time for all citizens of this country to stand as one in the face of George Bush and his minions. It is time for all of us to rise and demand answers and complete disclosure.

On December 12, 2000, a highly partisan United States Supreme Court awarded George W. Bush the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania without allowing for a full and final count of all the votes cast in the State of Florida. That partisan Court has traded our democracy for the deaths of thousands and by their action, failed to uphold our Constitutional rights.
