4. Pollitical correctness is alive & well at DU. All anyone had to do was either Reply to that post and
ask me to change that term.
Or PM me and ask me to change the that term.
Though I disagree that it is dis-respectful to women in this context, I would have been fine about changing it, because it wouldn't affect the purpose of what I said.
Alerting shows that power to control what gets posted on the board and what doesn't get posted is more important than just dealing with an instance of what it is claimed is dis-respect to others.
If mitigating the alleged dis-respect were more important to the alerter, the alerter would have Replied or PM'ed me with the request that I suggested above. The alerter didn't do that, so it is likely that the power to censor this board ranks higher in the alterter's priorities than anything to do with women's rights.
By dis-respecting my voice in a fascist act of censorship, the alerter creates the potential for dis-respect for their own voice and, hence, for the issue that they supposedly care sooooooooooooo much about. But I'm bigger than that, so I will continue to honor women's rights without the alerters' respect.
And isn't it pretty darned interesting that attempts at that kind of fascist control of what gets posted here would occur in a thread about the media and some 1%s' problems with being asked the gentlest of questions.
