That seems to be the new GOP mantra. It's the same old technique: Control the image of the opponent by stating something that is obviously untrue and/or calling into question his/her service and accomplishments. We've seen this movie many times.

So now the rational, fair-minded, consensus-building Obama is being depicted as a stiff-necked, prickly extremist. Expect this to ratchet up throughout the year, and don't be surprised if the media starts taking this as fact. That too is something we've seen a lot in recent years.
