The band Pearl Jam will stage a concert to aid a Northwest Senator who is facing a barrage of negative TV ads from a ďSuperPACĒ masterminded by former Bush guru Karl Rove.
As Roveís Crossroads GPS launched a new wave of attack ads on Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, Pearl Jam announced Tuesday that it will play a benefit concert for the senatorís campaign on Sept. 30 in Missoula.
Two lucky fans, winners in a raffle, will get to sit on stage with the band. Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament is a native of the Big Sky State and a longtime friend of the Tester family.
Tester is an improbable man to find on Capitol Hill. He is a crew-cut organic farmer from Big Sandy, Montana, who lost three fingers of his left hand in a meat at age 9. He is a gun enthusiast, supports wilderness preservation, but angered some liberals when he voted against the Dream Act.
