Just because votes don't fall to Republicans, doesn't mean Jews aren't supportive of Israel (to the hilt, or otherwise). It is a ploy (to make those claims) used by the right/conservatives to lure Jews, but it rarely has any effect. It is also employed by the left to imply disloyalty of Jews, as well as, the "complete control" Israel has over the US.
