It's not a surprise that the state commission, which is basically controlled by Scott Walker, is gonna stand in the way of this no matter what. And they're not adverse to making big bucks off of it either.

That said, it's really disingenuous of Jill Stein to claim that they don't have the money. They're raised nearly $7 million already to fund the recounts in WI/MI/PA and associated legal fees, which is more than enough to cover this new increased fee up front. Honestly, this massive hypocrisy is why she gained no traction - she accuses other candidates of being disingenuous (using the same "proof" that the GOP has been pushing for 40 years), then turns around and does exactly the thing she just accused someone else of.
