7. I have no strong feelings about Dennis Kucinich

But I have said before that the attacks on Republicans for multiple marriages and 'Stepford Wives' aren't about the marriages or the women. They are about the Republican men. Dissing Callista Gingrich is simply a rather callous way of saying 'I don't like Newt.' Because nobody really cares about Callista Gingrich. Yes, she has interesting hair and a rather odd smile. But Elizabeth Kucinich could also play Boudicca in a British miniseries about the Celts. And when she stands next to Dennis, it does look kind of funny.

I'm not saying the two men are the same either. As far as I know, Dennis has never cheated or left a wife with cancer, but he and Newt are only 3 years apart. Their current wives are 11 years apart. Newt was 22 when Callista was born. Dennis was 31 when Elizabeth was born. Dennis and Elizabeth are about two generations apart (he's a boomer, she's Generation Y). Newt and Callista are about one generation apart (almost-boomer and Generation X).

There's nothing wrong with inter-generational marriages. But if you're going to criticize one man for going for the younger, prettier woman, well, you know . . .
