Few people read the directions on how to use a fire extinguisher. They treat it like a point-and-shoot camera and make the situation worse.

The heavy truck D.O.T. safety course I took referred to the fire extinguishers that truckers are required to carry on their trucks.

"Tell your drivers, if there is a fire, the fire extinguisher is for the fire department to use. Tell them, if there is a fire, WALK AWAY FROM THE TRUCK AND CALL 911."
