I've read a lot from reputable sources (non-tabloid) over the past 6 years or so.

Clearly I think she made some mistakes in terms of her behavior, but I don't believe that's tantamount to being guilty of murder. The prosecution and the media influenced the trial outside the court room through leaks and stories.

The other thing is that she should have insisted on a lawyer and US consular and refused to give up her passport. A passport is a document is property of the US Government. Taking it is theft. People going abroad need to realize this as well as the fact that the laws in most countries are very different from ours. The court systems don't afford the same rights as well as the right to innocence until proved guilty.

I have lived in a foreign country for 10 years and the case has really make me realize I have to be careful what I say or do.
