Gun-rights folks always accuse us of fearing inanimate objects, but when it suits their purposes, they say things like "the gun discharged." The truth is we don't fear inanimate objects, but they love to blame them instead of the man.
Most gun enthusiasts call this sort of thing an "ND" - Negligent Discharge.
