1. My immediate reaction was "How many unsolved crimes were committed by cops?"

It's a terrifying thought and I do have a cousin -- a good man -- on the force. I know there are tons of good cops too but it does make one wonder. For men who are into this thing what better profession, right? That logic is specifically what made the show Dexter so chilling.
I had a run in with a cop once when my (then girlfriend, now wife's) car broke down. The cop came up to our car, looked at my GF and said, "This guy has to be your brother, right?" He laughed but it was a passive aggressive play and I hated it. When she said no he laughed and said, "Well, he's fine here. He can handle this mess himself. Where are you going? I can give you a ride" to her. She said we'd already called roadside assistance and shortly afterward the tow truck driver arrived. We then got into his truck together while he towed our car and told me that the cop we spoke to always drinks on the job. The cop was a good 20-25 years older than both of us.
To that day I've been cautious around cops and always made a point to try and read their names on their uniforms. Most are good but I shudder at the thought of how many bad ones are out there.
