Statistics say you are as likely to shoot me as the bad guy. Not so. There have been several mass shootings in which a person with a CCW stopped the killing. In none of those situations did the CCWer shoot the wrong person. In other defensive situations it is extremely rare for the CCWer to shoot the wrong person.

"...highly trained officers..." Common anti-gun fallacy. Most cops are not highly trained marksman. Since most cops will never fire their weapon except on the range one or twice a year, their training is in police procedures. Lasers for pistols are fairly cheap nowdays, and are a great aid in accuracy. Squeeze the handle, put red dot on bad guy, pull trigger without jerking gun. I guess he has never heard of them.
