Gun Control & RKBA

(27,711 posts)Several posters here have claimed that Government has no business to tell them what they can do in their own home; there are a particular few that I shall avoid naming so as to avoid a call-out.
I've also been told that there is no right to public safety, and that the police have no obligation to protect and serve the community, do you agree with these sentiments?
There seems to be a pseudo anti-Constitution and companion anti-government element to the opposition to gun control - that is actually arguing against itself - it goes something like who needs more worthless laws that don't work - but this doesn't mean we need more laws or reform - and that the crime rate is down and I am safer than ever - but that's not because of gun control and better policing - it's because of more guns. I find such positions to be the height of absurdity.
