I did get an automatic feeder for when I go on vacations, and he tried for a while to get it to give him food, but them took to sitting and waiting for it to move. And if he wasn't sitting right beside it, he would hear the whirr and run from anywhere in the house. The one I got was different from this one, it was on a rotating lazy-susan style. To me, this one looked like it could be destroyed---but I guess not.
