that you should ask your vet. There may be a human version, but rimadyl is strictly made for animals. But it is an NSAID (non-steroid anti inflammatory drug), and there are some of these for humans. I would not know how safe or unsafe these are in dogs. I was on naproxen for a while, and it is an NSAID of a different type than rimadyl. But if the price is prohibitive for rimadyl, I would be surprised that your vet could not help you find another drug that would help. It never hurts to ask.
