15. that is good advice

Adopting from a shelter saves lives.

I'd never buy a purebred dog (the dogs I had both had hip dysplasia and were purebreds; they were not bought but were rescue cases) as there are so many puppies and dogs waiting at shelters for good homes.

I'm sad to read this news and I feel for you, believe me. I've never heard of vaccinations causing a litter of pups to die I must admit!

Maybe adopting a new puppy from your local shelter would be an answer for you?

On edit: the above poster is quite correct -- many animals at shelters are indeed purebreds. The late Mr. Flame the cat was a prime example of such (purebred Flame Point Siamese cat he was adopted from a no-kill shelter).
